Mental health of applicants for international protection

Applicants for international protection are at greater risk of mental health problems due to various vulnerability factors before, during and after their migration journey. Unaccompanied minors deserve extra attention in this regard. Investing in mental health upon arrival is crucial for proper integration into and participation in Belgian society. In this report, the Superior Health Council makes concrete recommendations to address current shortcomings.
